Compilation of Human Interest Stories During Covid-19

COMPILATION OF HUMAN INTEREST STORIES DURING COVID-19

Dear Teachers, Parents & Students,
                As you are aware, Covide 19 pandemic has impacted all walks of life including the entire school education system. To migate the impact of the pandemic, huge amount of work has been done at Vidyalaya level with the efforts of Principal, Teachers, Students and even Parents.

              Secretary, School Education & Literacy, Govt. of India vide letter dated 01.02.2021 has requested to document our responses to COVID-19 for our future Administrators, Planners, Teachers, Schools etc. to learn from. In that context, it is important that we document some human-interest stories from each Region related to school education during pandemic: Stories of Innovation, sacrifice, going beyond call of duty, challenges faced and creatively solved, humour, finding joy in difficulty, etc.

              Accordingly, all Teachers, Parents & Students of KV Dharmapuri are requested to share 1 human interest stories each as follows:
  1. The Story should be written in English, in not more than 600-650 words and should strive to be neutral, objective & true.
  2. The story must be related to experiences of teaching, learning, outreach, inclusion, use of technology, etc.; basically, anything related to school education.
  3. At the centre of the story, there should be a person or persons in the context of school education-therefore, the story could be about a teacher, a student, a parent, a school, etc. who did exemplar and extraordinary work, out of the routine, during this period. The story should revolve around this person/s and his/her/their experiences.
  4. The facts and can be about:
    • This person overcoming adversity
    • Sacrifice and/or going beyond call of duty
    • Creative solution to a challenging situation
    • Funny Stories
    • Innovations done that helped many
  5. The story can contain dialogues/conversations/photographs. Story may be written to appeal to the emotional side of the reader.
  6. At the beginning of the story, the name of the teacher/volunteer/etc. may be given only if they agree to give name. Names of the students below 18 years, if any, may be given only with parental consent.
  7. The name of the School and address including, district and state is to be compulsorily written for each story.
  8. Examples of a story: - the teachers who began teaching on the village loudspeaker in Kachchh, Gujrat, the teacher who used the walls of houses as blackboards in Jharkhand etc.
  9. Best selected stories will be forwarded to DoSEL for final selection and will be placed on Education Ministry Website to motivate the school education community.

How to submit:
Teachers & Parents : Submit it in hard copy in Library during School hours.

Compilation of COVID Pandemic Experiences and Publication of E-Book

 COMPILATION OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC EXPERIENCES AND PUBLICATION OF E-BOOK

Dear Students,
                   It's time to share your experience about the changes in life, during Covid-19 Pandemic and show your talent in the below given formats. Further the selected entries will be sent to Regional Office for publication of E-Books & later it will also be circulated to all the Kendriya Vidyalayas of India and abroad.

Who can participate:
All Students of Primary and Secondary. The entries will be selected from Primary and Secondary, Separately 

Formats:
1. Poetry Composition: In addition to the stylised formal language format, this can also include the wide variety of now accepted formats like Villanelle, Sestina, Ekphrastic, Tanka, Found poetry etc.

Note:
{Villanelle: A French verse form consisting of five three-line stanzas and a final quatrain, with the first and third lines of the first stanza repeating alternately in the following stanzas. These two refrain lines form the final couplet in the quatrain.

Sestina: A complex French verse form, usually unrhymed, consisting of six stanzas of six lines each and a three-line envoy. Example: A sestina is a poem written using a very specific, complex form. Examples of Sestina: Elizabeth Bishop's "A Miracle for Breakfast" was published in 1972.

Ekphrastic: As you begin to write your ekphrastic poems, consider the following approaches: Write about the scene or subject being depicted in the artwork. Write in the voice of a person or object shown in the work of art. Write about your experience of looking at the art.

Tanka: Tanka poems follow a set of rules. They all have five lines and each line follows a pattern: the first line has five syllables, the second line has seven syllables, the third line has five syllables, the fourth line has seven syllables, and the fifth line has seven syllables.}

2. Flash Fiction: Experiences narrated in the form of fiction with all its elements but the size limited to 1000 words.

3. Tweet: Experiences expressed crisply within the word limitations of tweets with all its accompanied relaxations and freedom. Letter limit is 160 characters. 

4. Meme: Multimedia creations expressing the experiences in a creative and humorous manner.
